{ object.primary_image.title }}

30-second summary: Bynder commissioned Survata, to conduct an anonymous survey of over 1000 marketing and branding professionals in the US and UK. The goal of the survey was to assess how marketing automation and technology contribute to improved brand awareness and perception. The future of the mall

{ object.primary_image.title }}

30-second summary: More customers are transitioning to a digital-first experience Digital-first brands that recognize a superior CX as a competitive differentiator are aware that the in-store experience, while still important, represents just a sliver of how a customer interacts with a brand. Clienteling is one type of a digital experience that can enhance an in-store visit. Malls are taking other steps to re-think the traditional mall experience with a digital focus, such as buy online, pick-up in-store (BOPIS) or buy online, return in-store. A personalized, digital-first CX that treats an in-store experience as complementary to a holistic customer journey more closely aligns with how the customer views their relationship with a brand. As a proud native Minnesotan, home to the Southdale Center and the Mall of America, the country’s first mall and its first mega-mall, respectively, the topic of the demise of the mall hits close to home. While Minnesota …

Adapting to the new normal: Video content strategy after COVID-19

{ object.primary_image.title }}

30-second summary: Video is now ‘the new normal enabler’ connecting brands and customers when offline interactions are still far from reverting to normal. Videos are bridging the gap for informing, educating, engaging, entertaining, and socializing with customers. Low-budget videos are now the it-thing of the video marketing industry – they look nothing like ads or promotional videos customers are likely to skip. Although not a new trend, the popularity of live streams has soared due to COVID-19. Yes, while WFH, people tend to get distracted with their devices and watch a live stream. Not only stock markets are up – stock footage is …

{ object.primary_image.title }}

Posted by willcritchlow I’ve been in an introspective mood lately. Earlier this year (15 years after starting Distilled in 2005), we spun out a new company called SearchPilot to focus on our SEO A/B testing and meta-CMS technology (previously known as Distilled ODN), and merged the consulting and conferences part of the business with Brainlabs . I’m now CEO of SearchPilot (which is primarily owned by the shareholders of Distilled), and am also SEO Partner at Brainlabs, so… I’m sorry everyone, but I’m very much staying in the SEO industry. As such, it feels a bit like the end of a chapter for me rather than the end of the book, but it has still had me looking back over what’s changed and what hasn’t over the last 15 years I’ve been in the industry. I can’t lay claim to being one of the first generation of SEO experts, but …
