How COVID-19 teaches us that succeeding and winning are different

I had always wanted to learn to play another instrument, and so I eventually found a teacher, bought a sax, and after almost 10 years of lessons and practice, I was able to start playing in a band. The Local SEO Stats & Practical Tactics of Google’s Top-Ranked Grocery Stores

{ object.primary_image.title }}

Posted by MiriamEllis Grocery stores belong at the center of the 2021 local SEO industry conversation. Other than medical facilities, no enterprise stands out more clearly on the map as essential to daily life in the US, and few verticals have had to adapt more rapidly in mid-flight than our neighborhood food stores in the COVID-19 era. From independent grocers to major supermarket chains, there are heroes in every aisle keeping the nation fed. Any data that supports the strong continuance of these businesses is well worth sharing. In this article, I’ll provide results from 900 data points I pulled while analyzing the top local-pack-ranked grocery store in each of the 50 US capital cities. The Best-Laid Plans: Can We Predict Anything About 2021?

{ object.primary_image.title }}

Posted by Dr-Pete I've deleted this introduction twice. To say that no one could've predicted how 2020 unfolded seems trite since we're not even a month into 2021, and this new year has already unraveled. Our challenges in the past year, across the globe, have gone far beyond marketing, and I doubt any of us ended the year the way we expected. This graph from Google Trends tells the story better than I can: The pandemic fundamentally rewrote the global economy in a way none of us has ever experienced, and yet we have to find a path forward. How do we even begin to chart a course in 2021? What do we know? Let's start small. Within our search marketing realm, is there anything we can predict with relative certainty in 2021? Below are some of the major announcements Google has made and trends that are likely to continue. …

Breaking down President Biden’s data-driven social media strategy

{ object.primary_image.title }}

Just days before the 2020 Presidential election, we reported that Joe Biden was outperforming Donald Trump on social media by certain key metrics. Despite the penetrating volume of Trump’s Twitter feed, Biden was earning more interactions per tweet, and far more interactions per user. Not only was Biden winning on Twitter, but his campaign was making an impact on YouTube and even on Twitch. And, of course, he won the election. But this wasn’t a social media campaign based on flair and instinct: it was tightly driven by social analytics. No-one can better explain how that worked in practice than Sarah Galvez, Director of Social Media and Audience Development at Biden for President. Sarah J. Galvez “I started out like many millennials as a consumer of the internet and social media,” Galvez told us. “I think I started my Twitter account in a computer lab while I was in high …

The Future of Ubersuggest

{ object.primary_image.title }}

* Please read the whole post, I have some good news at the bottom, but it won’t make sense unless you read the whole post. Do you know why I got into SEO? Not many people know this, but I grew up in middle-class America, and I wanted a better life for me and my parents. When I was 16 years old, I worked at a theme park called Knotts Berry Farm where I picked up trash, cleaned restrooms, and swept up vomit every single day. I didn’t mind it because that’s life and I needed the money. At 16, I realized I was too young to get a high paying job, so I did the next best thing… I started a business. But making $5.75 an hour picking up trash wasn’t enough to market my business, though. The only solution that I could think of was SEO because if …
