To save lives, we need a lot of people to take the vaccine quickly. Some incentives could help. When a COVID-19 vaccine is ready—assuming that one or more of the vaccines now in testing is successful—the next challenge will be whether people are willing to take it. In one recent Pew survey , nearly half of Americans said that they would probably or definitely refuse a vaccine if it was available now.
